The #1 Meditation Practice To Feel Good, Heal Your Body, Regulate Emotions, Access Your Intuition, & Spark Your Creativity

Neuron #6: The Captain of Your Soul

If you were forced to choose only ONE style of meditation to practice for the rest of your life, what would it be?

With the over-saturation of meditation techniques, it might be difficult for you to choose.

For me, it’s an easy choice.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve predominantly relied on ONE meditation style to help me:

  • heal my body and increase my heart-rate-variability (HRV)

  • shift, stabilize, and/or elevate my emotional state

  • increase cognitive function, attention, memory, and mental clarity

  • cultivate theta brainwaves and reprogram my subconscious mind

  • cultivate alpha brainwaves to access my creative and intuitive self

  • “download” massive life visions that positively altered the course of my life (such as the download to start writing about meditation, as I am doing this very instant)

  • shift my mind, heart, and body into a coherent state

Most importantly, however, I’ve used this meditation as an anchor to keep me connected to myself when I’m feeling lost and scattered.

And when I am in a big soul-searching transition in life and desperately need to re-create a new life path, I always return to this fundamental practice.

Inspired by my studies with HeartMath, here are the basic steps:

  • Generate a positive emotion or feeling in your heart (easier said than done)

  • Breathe at a rhythm of 6 seconds in, 6 seconds out

  • Feel the breath and the feeling pulsating out of your heart (not your gut or belly, as compared to deep breathing)

  • When you inevitably get distracted, shift your focus back to the breath and the feeling

That’s it.

Although it may sound simple, a profound state of being will arise from within you.

Contrary to what we are led to believe, humans are NOT machines that respond to orders sent by the brain.

In fact, the heart and brain are continuously responding to "orders" from each other.

However, the most exciting fact is: the heart sends MORE signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart.

And you can use your heart to entrain your brain and body.

What does that mean?

The frequency and power generated by your heart can shift the rest of your body into coherence with that frequency.

In more poetic words, your heart can be the master of your fate and the captain of your soul.

And it all starts by cultivating and maintaining heart-felt positive emotions and feelings.

HeartMath Institute has been pioneering research in this field for decades and designed a biofeedback device to help you train and measure this skill. That is precisely how I’ve developed mastery in this realm over the past 10 years. (In future Neurons and Trippy Reports, I will take us deep into the research by HeartMath.)

This is the keystone of a meditation practice that I’ve custom-designed for myself, drawing on thousands of hours of meditation practice, hundreds of bestselling books, and tens of thousands of dollars spent on courses and retreats.

It could be the difference that helps you stop being who you’ve been and start becoming who you’re meant to be.

Love, Connor

P.S. I am creating an online course to teach you about discovering who you are, why you are here, and how to change. It covers the most important ancient wisdom, groundbreaking science, and practical tools that I've gathered. Meditation is the ground of self re-creation. If you are ready to make a shift in your life, send me a DM on Twitter or reply to this email.

Questions, comments, feedback, need help? Reach out. It'd be a privilege to connect with you.
